When Peter Nwoke remembers the last hug he shared with his mother, a smile spreads across his face. It was a hug 10 months in the making and it remains one of his favorite memories. “It was the best feeling ever,” Nwoke said. The hug happened back in 2018 when Nwoke was just 15 years old. He had just completed the long 14-hour flight home from Detroit Metro Airport to his home Lagos, Nigeria, where his sister, Roselyne, was waiting to pick him up and take him home for a three-week stay. When Nwoke’s mother, Adamma, laid eyes on her son, she rushed to him before he made it to the front door. “My mom hugged me for five-straight minutes,” Nwoke said. “I wasn’t even in the house yet.” It was the first time he had returned to his hometown since moving to the United States in 2017 to fulfill an academic scholarship he obtained at Orchard Lake St. Mary’s Preparatory, a Catholic boarding school in southeast Michigan. Park University Fall 2020 Graduates - Sedalia Democrat

Park University announced its Fall 2020 graduates from the University's flagship Parkville Campus, as well as the Downtown Kansas City, Independence and Lenexa, Kansas, campuses. The list of graduates also includes fall online graduates worldwide and graduates from the University's other campuses across the country not previously announced this year.

Park hosted a virtual all-University commencement ceremony on Dec. 12. The University had 607 students eligible to graduate — 260 students received a master's degree and/or a graduate certificate, and 347 students received a bachelor's degree, associate degree and/or undergraduate certificate.

Master of Business Administration: Chryse A. Calkins, Business Administration, Warrensburg.

Master of Education: Kimberly Sue Beymer, Education Technology for Teachers, Warrensburg.

Master of Healthcare Administration: Yolanda D. Quintero, Healthcare Administration, Warrensburg.

Bachelor of Science: Nicholas Bara, Geography, Whiteman Air Force Base; Tyler Glenski, Information and Computer Science/Software Development, Marshall; Joseph R. Good III, Geography, Whiteman Air Force Base; Tyrone K. Merritt, Criminal Justice Administration, Whiteman Air Force Base; Douglas J. Reef, Business Administration/Management, Warrensburg; Chantal Ja'Nae Wells, Business Administration/Human Resources, Whiteman Air Force Base.
